About this Scholarship
Design by Umeå Scholarships for International Students
Umeå University offers scholarships as part of a collaboration with Umeå municipality in conjunction with the autumn semester admissions. The scholarships are offered to academically talented and high-achieving design students in the form of tuition-waivers.
The scholarships are funded by a donation from Umeå kommun (Umeå municipality).
What It Covers
Selected candidates receive a full or partial waiver of the tuition fee.
Eligibility Criteria
The selections are based entirely on the applicant's academic merit. A committee within each respective faculty is tasked with selecting candidates for scholarships.

How to Apply
Register interest for a scholarship
When the form to register interest opens, eligible students will receive an email with instructions. The email is sent to the email address registered on University Admissions. Only applicants with a Umeå University design programme as priority 1 on University Admissions, as of their application deadline, or second year Master's design students at Umeå University (i.e. students who are currently in their first Master's year) are eligible to register interest for a scholarship.
As a new student, your invitation to register interest for a scholarship is connected to your priority 1 programme. If you do not receive a place on your first-hand choice, but are admitted to another programme at Umeå University, it is not possible to register interest for a scholarship for the other programme instead.
If you are an eligible student and have not received an email after the dates listed above to register interest, please contact at tuitionfees@umu.se.
