Transportation in the city

Our university is dedicated to shrinking its overall carbon footprint. Daily commutes to and from campuses by students, faculty, and staff, alongside students' travel to Edinburgh at the start and end of terms, represent two major contributors to this footprint.

We estimate that these daily and term-time commutes jointly produce 14,000 tCO2e, amounting to 7,000 tCO2e daily. The university works with the local community to encourage eco-friendly travel options, including walking, cycling, and public transit.
